Numeracy is fun at Garth!
Pupils learn to master the skills through a clear and structured curriculum. Staff use Little Big Maths and Big Maths throughout the school to build their numeracy skills.
Mathletics is used as a supporting program on the computers and I pads to extend and challenge the pupils.
Through topics and themes pupils use and apply their numeracy skills in a variety of ways.
At Garth we aim to provide 'real' and stimulating opportunities for pupils to use their numeracy skills.
A range of events happen throughout the year :-
PUZZLE DAYS
NUMERACY WEEK
ENTERPRISE WEEK
MARATHON MAY and 10K MAY
ENTERPRISE TROOPERS
MATHLETICS CLUBS
These events allow pupils to use and stretch their numeracy skills.
We also aim to develop other skills alongside such as:-
RESILIENCE
PERSERVERANCE
COMMITMENT
DETERMINATION
TEAM WORK
COMMUNICATION
and CREATIVITY
Parents are welcome to many of our events and enjoy the challenges that they bring! Watch the newsletters and letters home to find out when these events will be taking place.
