Welcome to Year 3
Please find below some information that you may find useful for your child’s new class in the juniors.
Please ensure all clothes are labelled with your child’s name.
Please ensure your child has a coat on days of unpredictable weather, to ensure we are still able to use the outdoors.
We operate a no shoes policy in the juniors, so pupils are able to bring in slippers if they wish or just wear their socks.
Your child has a personal cup provided and has access to water throughout the day.
PE kit will be needed on a Wednesday.
Judo will take place on a Friday in the Spring term, PE kit will be needed.
If your child requires fruit, you will need to send in 20p a day for them to purchase fruit in the tuck shop. This will be their responsibility.
Reading books will need to be in school daily.
Your child’s reading book will be changed once YOU have commented to say that they have read the book.
Your child will he heard reading throughout the week during group reading sessions.
Homework mats will be sent out in due course. Your child will need to complete at least 3 tasks. They will earn merit points for this.
Spellings will be sent out in a book on a Monday. Please help your child to learn how to spell these words. Please return these books EVERY FRIDAY, ready for a spelling test on those words.
Our topic this term will be ‘Dream for a Druid’ which is linked to the Celtic times.

Year 3 Lead Creative Schools Project
Through funding from the Arts Council of Wales, we were able to employ two creative practitioners to work with Year 3 children. These two practitioners are disciplined in the areas of dance and drama. Their names are Cari and Claire. They visit us weekly and provide us with creative challenges and tools to take forward.
