The sections below provide links to the online learning platforms that we will ask you to use if your child has to work at home.
Please familiarise yourself with them and check that your child knows how to access each site.
HWB
You child has access to an online learning platform that they are familiar with.
We have uploaded some videos of how to access HWB on our website which can be viewed here https://www.garthprimary.co.uk/hwb/
There are also information sections for parents on the HWB website that can support you. https://hwb.gov.wales/distance-learning/distance-learning-tools-through-hwb/welcome-to-parents-and-carers-support/
Google classroom
All junior classes have ‘Google Classroom’ set up and they will be familiar with using this. Have a look around your child's Google classroom and familiarise yourself with this. Ask your child to show you around and how to use it.
Reading at home
Junior children are able to access online reading books using ‘Giglets’. Your child knows their username and password. The class teacher assigns suitable reading materials for your child to view. You can access it here: https://pupil.gigletsedu.com/landing/
Foundation Phase can access free online reading materials by following this link: https://home.oxfordowl.co.uk/#
Reading Records:
Please follow this link when you listen to your child read.
https://forms.gle/pwqhzS6YUYXzNygu9
It is a very simple form that gets sent straight to your child's teacher. This helps the class teacher to see how much reading your child is doing whilst at home. This will be our reading record for the foreseeable future.
Mathletics
Mathletics is available for all classes from Y1 – Y6 and your child should know their passwords and usernames. This is an online platform that has learning and games available. Your child's class teacher will set suitable activities for your child.
Mathletics can be found here: https://login.mathletics.com/
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
