Croeso i flwyddyn 1!
Welcome to Year 1!
Our topic this year is ‘What a Wonderful World’, and this term we will be learning all about ourselves and other amazing people! The first book we will be looking at together is Roald Dahl’s ‘The BFG’. If you have the opportunity, please watch and discuss the film with your child.
During October we will be linking to Black History Month and the famous ‘I have a dream...’ speech by Martin Luther King Jr.
After half term we will turn our attention to Africa and the story ‘Handa’s Surprise’.
PE day is Monday and due to the present circumstances, pupils may wear their kit to school on this day.
Reading books will be sent home and these may be returned on your child’s allocated day to read.
Should members of the class, or the whole class need to self isolate or be off for prolonged periods, we will be using the SeeSaw app to manage activities and stay in touch. Please see below for details.
Please find a short simple video which shows parents how to make the most of the SeeSaw app!
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
