Week Beginning 6.7.2020
Maths and Numeracy
I can see that not many of you are using Mathletics DAILY.
You have set tasks on there as well as live mathletics to use.
Go around your home/garden and identify different 3D shapes you can see. Eg. Cereal box = cuboid
6 faces, 12 edges and 3 vertices.
Can you draw a picture and label how many faces, edges and vertices the 3D shapes have.
Language, Literacy and Communication
Oracy
Discuss whether you think unicorns are real or not? Justify your answer with reasons.
Reading:
Continue to read daily and make use of Giglets. Create a list of interesting adjectives that you have read in your book.
Writing:
Can you create your own mythical beast and write down a description of it. Remember a mythical beast can have different parts of different animals. Eg. Head and neck of a flamingo, body and wings of a penguin, the legs of an elephant and a tail of a skunk. My mythical creature is called a ‘Flamenguin’. Use as many adjectives (describing words) as you can! You could even include a simile. You should aim to write a paragraph.
Health and Wellbeing
Make sure you are getting daily exercise. Use the Body Coach videos or yoga for kids on YouTube.
Make and A-Z of things that make you happy!
Expressive Arts
Produce a picture of your mythical beast. You could draw, paint or even chalk it. Record by taking a picture and sending it to your teacher.
Science and Technology
By now, you should have all planted your sunflowers.
Can you draw a plant and label the functions.
Eg. Roots, stem, leaves, petals and seeds.
Explore how flowers help with pollination.
