Welcome to Year 6!
What's been happening in Year 6 this term?
It's been a short, but busy term.
Well done to all our pupils who passed their Survival Skills swimming assessments and to pupils who swam their first 25 metres this term, we are really proud of you all.
Well done to all the pupils who made periscopes for their half term mission as part of our Spies Transition Project. The finished periscopes will be a feature in the Maesteg Cluster Learning Stall at the Bridgend Festival of Learning. There will be many pieces of Garth Year 6 pupils' writing on display, such as instructional writing and spy biographies, as well as spy passports designed by our pupils and independent research on real life spies.
Our fabulous periscopes.
We had a cluster competition across all Year 6 classes to design a spy themed t-shirt which would be kindly reproduced and made by Garth Enterprise Troopers in Year 5 and Year 6. Pupils in all six primary schools chose the winning entry from Garth Primary School. Well done to our talented designer! The t-shirts have now been produced and pupil representatives from all schools will be wearing these lovely t-shirts at the Learning Festival. The Festival is open to the public on Wednesday 26th June at the Bridgend Recreation Centre (in the Bowls Hall).
