Welcome

Welcome to Garth Primary School.

We are a happy and caring community of children, staff, parents, carers and governors. Our school motto of 'Reach for the Stars' is at the heart of everything we do in Garth and we make sure that we try to be the best we can be.

At Garth we believe in giving every child the opportunity to reach their full potential within a safe and nurturing environment. We instil confidence, develop self esteem and independence in our children so that they can go forward into the world believing in themselves and feeling ready to tackle what lies ahead of them.

As a ‘Rights Respecting School’, we are committed to promoting the values and principles of The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.  As a ‘Rights Respecting School’ we teach about children’s rights and model rights and respect in all relationships.

We firmly believe that every child has a right to learn and go to school’ (Article 28) and a ‘right to be the best they can be’. (Article 29).

We offer a rich and exciting curriculum and endeavour to meet the differing needs of all learners. We offer a wide range of extra curricular activities which include sport, music and ICT. We place great emphasis on educational visits to enhance our curriculum and provide opportunities for our children’s ‘voices’ to be heard through our active Pupil Parliament.

We are committed to raising standards across the curriculum, particularly in numeracy and literacy. We have been recognised as a ‘Healthy School’ and are a  ‘Platinum Green Flag’ school for sustained effort and commitment to environmental issues.

We hope your child will take full advantage of what we have to offer and will enter into the full life of the school by taking part in the activities available.

Together we can provide the best possible education for your children, enabling them to 'Reach for the Stars'.
